Cranberry Pecan Frangipane Tart from smitten kitchen
  • 1 cup coarsely chopped pecans
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup plus 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 9 tablespoons (1 stick plus 1 tablespoon) unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 large egg white (you can use the one you've got leftover from the crust!)
  • 1 tablespoon brandy (optional)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon orange zest
  • 1/2 to 1 cup whole, fresh cranberries
  • 1 x Great Unshrinkable Sweet Tart Shell, baked and cooled
  • 1 tbsp Powdered sugar, for dusting
