Ingredients for 8 servings

1 lb quick oat (old fashioned)rolled oats

2 cup coarsely chopped raw nuts and/or seeds (I usually use a mixture of almonds, hazelnuts and pumpkin seeds, but use whatever tickles your fancy)

1 tsp ground cinnamon

1/2 tsp ground cardamom

1/2 tsp ground mace (or nutmeg)

1 cup dark brown sugar

1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter

1/3 cup Water

1/2 tsp fine sea salt

2 tsp Vanilla Extract dried fruit

dried fruit, at your discretion
