Ingredients

1/2 cup blanched, slivered almonds

1/2 cup fruity extra virgin olive oil

2 large garlic cloves, peeled

1 slice hearty bread, about 1/2-inch thick

1/2 teaspoon ground pasilla chile

1/4 teaspoon ground chipotle chile

1 roasted red bell pepper, seeded and coarsely chopped, about 1/2 cup (see Note)

1 small meaty tomato - about 3-4 ounces - peeled, seeded and coarsely chopped (see Note)

1 to 2 teaspoons red wine vinegar or lemon juice, to taste
