• 1 1/2 tbsp baking soda
• 1/2 tsp salt
• 4 tbsp butter, softened to room temperature and sliced
• 1 1/2 tbsp caraway seeds
• 1 cup currants or raisins or golden raisins (optional)
• 1 3/4 cup buttermilk, shaken well
• 1 x egg, lightly beaten
• 2 tbsp honey
• 1 tbsp melted butter
