If I make the dough in advance, can I store it in the freezer or fridge and roll out to bake another day?

These are yummy! Unfortunately the icing wasn't as white because stores were out of clear extract and almond extract! Grrr holiday season. Super cute though!

I made them today, and I couldn't get the marshmallows to look like the picture. I would chill the dough before rolling. It's very difficult thrill them otherwise. They were difficult to assemble, but very cute if you have the patience. Also, I just used the Joy's royal icing.

I would love to make these adore cookies for my 3 year old nephew, Cam. I am going home for Christmas and am planning to make them then. Problem...my parents do not have a microwave. I know...crazy! Can I melt marshmallows in a low heat oven? Or, should I make them before I head home? Was worried about shelf life??? Thank you!

Made them for Christmas. Everyone loved them. I used another sugar cookie recipe. The marshmallow part was messy but worth the extra work.

They took a bit of finessing - first the frosting recipe is a bit runny (I had to adjust for the second batch to make it a bit thicker), the perfect time for the marshmallows for me was 20 seconds. A bit of a project but my son's kindergarten class is watching "The Snowman" tomorrow and they are adorable.

I had to chuckle at Hillary's comment. I can so relate. Some of the easy sugar cookies my grandkids and I had fun making and decorating didn't come out so terrific either - but the sweet family memories were perfect and still heartwarming :)

Made them. Let's just say it's not quite as easy as it looks. I have very sad snowmen cookies but they taste good.
