Stuffed French Toast With Cranberry-Orange-Pear Compote

Ingredients

2 T. butter

2 Bartlett pears, cored, peeled and sliced

1/2 C.dried cranberries

1/4 C. water

1 can mandarin oranges

The juice of half an orange

1 t. orange zest

1 t. vanilla extract

1/4 C. dark brown sugar

1/2 t. cinnamon

1/8 oz package cream cheese

The juice of one orange (or 1/4 cup orange juice)

The zest of one orange

1/2 C. powdered sugar

1 loaf of brioche, or home made bread, even cinnamon swirl. Any bread that can be cut into 1 1/2″ slices.

6 eggs

Pinch of salt

1 C. half and half (you can use the fat free)

1 c. maple syrup

1/4 C. half and half

pinch of cinnamon
