1/4 cup sugar

1/2 cup currants

1/2 teaspoon nutmeg (I may go with a tad more next time)

1/2 cup unsalted butter, frozen

1 large egg

½ cup half-and-half or whipping cream (you may need slightly more)

2 tablespoons whipping cream

2 tablespoons sugar (regular or natural cane sugar), optional
