1/2 small onion

2 cloves of garlic

1 teaspoon olive oil

1 teaspoon salt

2 teaspoons oil

2 carrots, diced

2 celery stalks diced

1 clove garlic, minced

1/2 yellow pepper, diced

1 teaspoon adobo from chiles in adobo, plus 1/2 teaspoon or so of a chile, minced

1/2 teaspoon grated bittersweet chocolate

1 teaspoon soy sauce

1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar

pinch of cayenne or to taste

1 cup brown rice

2 1/4 cups water

1/2 teaspoon coconut oil

1/2 teaspoon turmeric

one tiny pinch saffron, threads ground between your fingers

1/2 teaspoon salt
