2 garlic cloves

1 small cantaloupe, honeydew or watermelon, about 3 pounds, cut from rind, seeded and cut into large chunks

3 medium-sized tomatoes, about 1 1/2 pounds, peeled, seeded and cut into chunks (see Note)

1 jalapeno pepper, half of the seeds removed, roughly chopped

3 tablespoons lemon juice

1 tablespoon red wine vinegar

3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (see Note)

Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper

1/2 cup finely minced red onion

1/2 cup diced seedless cucumber

1/2 cup chopped basil, mint or a combination

Smoked sea salt (optional)
