1 teaspoon fine sea salt

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

½ teaspoon ground ginger

¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg

pinch of ground cloves

1 ½ cups buttermilk**

½ cup fresh or canned pumpkin puree (NOT pumpkin pie filling)

1 Tablespoon pure maple syrup

3 Tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

Coconut oil for brushing the griddle

2-3 apples, peeled, cored and sliced

2 Tablespoons unsalted butter or coconut oil

1 teaspoon maple syrup

a dash of cinnamon
