  • 1 1/2 Tbsps Canola oil
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1/4 tsp ground cayenne pepper
  • 1/8 tsp ground turmeric
  • 1/4 tsp ground cumin
  • 3/4 tsp garam masala
  • 1/2 lb okra, end removed, chopped
  • 1 large tomato, seed and chopped
  • 1 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 Tbsp cilantro, chopped
  • Salt

Instead of 1 and 1/2 T of oil (180 calories) you can use 1 teaspoon of oil to get it going..and splash in a few spoons of chicken broth to finish the cooking without scorching it...You can also use frozen sliced okra if you can't get fresh. It's actually easier that way... xo
