I LOVE CHILI! has become a staple in our house, and I often pray for cold days just so I can make it. Now this recipe is only a bit different from what I do..I add 2 cans or the tomatoes and sause and kidney beans. I've also tried substituting the kidney beans for black beans, and adding a couple cups of frozen corn (for color as well as taste) to vary things a bit. Using dried chili peppers instead of chili powder to add heat and throwing in diced green onions. Garnish with tortilla chips, sour cream and shredded cheese and you have a great southwestern chili. (my advice is to start with a few dried chilis and check 'heat' every so often...if you like it spicier...throw in more)

Ingredients for 5 servings

1 pound ground beef

1 cup assorted chopped vegetables, such as bell pepper, carrot and onion

1 can (15 ounces) kidney beans, drained and rinsed

1 can (14 1/2 ounces) diced tomatoes, undrained

1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce

1 package McCormick® Chili Seasoning Mix, Original

1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese

1/4 cup chopped onion
