3 tablespoons fat-free reduced sodium chicken broth

3 tablespoons soy sauce

2 tablespoons sugar

1 serrano chile pepper, seeded and minced (optional); wear plastic gloves when handling

2 large cloves garlic, minced

1 1/2 tablespoons grated fresh ginger

1 teaspoon cornstarch


2 teaspoons vegetable oil

3/4 pound large shrimp, peeled, deveined, and halved lengthwise

1 bunch scallions, sliced diagonally into 1" pieces

1 cup snow peas, cut into matchsticks

1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced

1 carrot, cut into matchsticks

1/2 pound linguine, cooked and drained
