FOR THE MULLED WINE:

2½ cups red wine

⅔ cup superfine sugar

Wide strips of zest and juice from 1 lemon

Wide strips of zest and juice from 1 orange

4 cloves

1 stick cinnamon

1 cup heavy cream, whipped
