1 cup bottled clam juice

1/4 cup butter

1/4 teaspoon sugar

1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

4 cooked, cleaned and cracked Dungeness crabs (about 2 pounds each)

Salt, to taste

Sourdough bread for serving
