1/2 tsp. caraway seeds

6 cherry peppers, stemmed

4 medium carrots, peeled, trimmed, and cut

crosswise into 3" pieces

1 small celery root (about 2/3 lb.), peeled

and cut into 1/4" pieces

1 medium yellow onion, finely chopped

1 dried bay leaf

1 1/3 cups plus 2 tbsp. flour

2 eggs


1 tbsp. lard

1 tbsp. hot paprika, preferably Hungarian

1 tbsp. chopped flat-leaf parsley

1 clove garlic, finely chopped
