Hey Jess, I'm a homebrewer and vegan, so I know about isinglass of course. At the time we published this recipes, Extra Stout was the only variety of Guinness that did not use isinglass (Draught, the much more common type of Guinness, did). But checking on now, it appears that Guinness has started using it in all their beers. So you're right, this recipe is no longer vegetarian. I'll remove that label.

This recipe isn't isn't even vegetarian! Guinness contains isinglass, found in dried swim bladders of fish. Many beers and wines use gelatin in its place, which is also not vegan. Always research a product carefully before deeming it vegan-friendly.
