2 cups dry red wine

1 1/2 cups water

1 pound white potatoes, peeled and cut into 1-inch dice

One 1-pound celery root, peeled and cut into 1-inch dice

3/4 cup milk, warmed

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

1/2 cup coarse, fresh bread crumbs
