Evan, do you cook your own chickpeas? I want to make this Hummus, but I have issues with sodium. Also need to know where to buy tahini (?).

Hummus is so much tastier when you make your own. Avoid using canned chickpeas if you can.

Ingredients for 6 servings

3 large cloves of garlic, coarsely chopped

1 teaspoon coarse salt

3/4 cup (180g) tahini (sesame paste)

2 tablespoons olive oil

1/3 cup (80ml) freshly-squeezed lemon juice

2 cups (350g) drained canned chickpeas, (reserve the liquid)

1 cup (15g) gently-packed parsley leaves, preferably flat-leaf

1/8 teaspoon chile powder

6 tablespoons (or more) of chickpea liquid
