This recipe was not only very delicious and a hit for my Christmas Eve dinner, but it was extremely simple. I was able to get the stew started before I left the house for last minute shopping. When I came home hours later the house had a wonderful aroma. This was a huge hit at the dinner table. My only recommendation is to follow the advice in the reviews, I did and everything turned out great : )

Ingredients for 8 servings

1/4 cup red wine

1/8 teaspoon dried thyme

1 (28 ounce) can stewed tomatoes, with juice

3 potatoes, cubed

1/8 teaspoon dried marjoram

1/8 teaspoon dried rosemary

1 cup chopped celery

4 carrots, sliced

2 cups water

3 1/2 tablespoons tapioca

1 (10 ounce) package frozen green peas, thawed

2 cubes beef bouillon

2 1/2 pounds beef stew meat, diced into 1 inch pieces

3 onions, chopped
