Ingredients for 4 servings

450 g pork and apple sausages (or sausages of your choice)

1 tbsp vegetable oil

2 medium onions, peeled and chopped

2 apples, sliced and cored, but not peeled (I used Russets)

1 heaped tsp plain flour

275 ml dry cider or apple juice

2 tablespoons tomato puree

2 cloves of garlic, crushed

12 fresh sage leaves, finely chopped

Salt and pepper to taste

225 g self-raising flour

1 tablespoon fresh herbs (such as parsley, sage and thyme)

110 g shredded vegetable suet (Or, grated frozen butter)

Water, to mix
