1 1/3 cups tepid water (approximately 90 degrees)

1/2 cup unsalted butter, just softened

8 ounces cream cheese, just softened

2/3 cup creamy peanut butter, preferably not natural/organic

2 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar, sifted

6 ounces good-quality semisweet chocolate chips

5 tablespoons whole milk

3 tablespoons cold unsalted butter

1 teaspoon light corn syrup

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
