3 parsnips, peeled and grated (about 2 cups)

2 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 cup golden raisins

1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

3/4 cup safflower or sunflower oil

1 cup pecans
