1 tablespoon fresh minced garlic (or to taste)

4-6 slices Texas toast thick bread, toasted

4 tablespoons butter

black pepper (lots of black pepper)

1 pinch cayenne pepper (optional or to taste)

1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

salt (to taste, Iuse seasoned salt)

2/3 cup frozen peas (or use corn)

2 1/2 cups cooked chicken, cubed (or use cooked turkey)

7-9 medium fresh button mushrooms, sliced

1 tablespoon chicken bouillon (or to taste)

4 tablespoons flour

1 small onion , chopped

1 cup whipping cream, unwhipped

1/3 cup parmesan cheese (more for top if desired)

2 cups canned chicken broth , undiluted
