Ingredients

1 cup plain yogurt (whole milk is best but low-fat or fat-free are fine)

2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice

2 teaspoons ground cumin

1 teaspoon cayenne pepper

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

1 teaspoon ground coriander

1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger

1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

1 teaspoon kosher salt

3 boneless skinless chicken breasts (about 11/2 pounds), cut into 1-inch cubes

4 long skewers, (if wooden then soaked in water for 30 minutes before grilling)

1 tablespoon butter

2 large garlic cloves, minced

1 to 2 green chiles (depending upon heat desired), minced

2 teaspoons paprika

2 teaspoons ground coriander

11/2 cup tomato sauce

3/4 cup heavy cream

1 1/2 teaspoons garam masala

2 tablespoons slivered almonds for garnish
