4 eggs

1 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon espresso powder (optional)

1/4 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

1 cup unsalted butter

2 1/4 cups sugar

1 1/2 cup unbleached all purpose flour

2 cups dark chocolate chips

1 to 2 pinch dried Superhot chili pod (we used the Moruga Scorpion), ground to a powder in an electric spice mill or mortar and pestle. If your pod is too wet to grind, first toast in a frying pan or in oven.
