1 T sugar

1 T peanut oil

1 tsp. minced garlic

1/2 tsp. grated ginger

6 oz. pearl onions, boiled 4 minutes, drained, cooled in ice water, and outer skins removed

1 fresh pineapple, cut into 1-inch chunks
