8 oz morcilla (black pudding ), cut into 12 thick slices

Sugar, to taste

Salt and ground black pepper

1 teaspoon paprika

1 onion, thinly sliced

2 garlic cloves, thinly sliced

1 tablespoon olive oil

12 slices of French bread

1 teaspoon dried oregano

Chopped fresh oregano, to garnish
