1 kg green jackfruit (kathal)

4 tbsp (60ml) oil

4 medium-sized (250gms) potatoes, peeled and cut into 3 cm cubes

½ tsp (2.5gms) sugar

salt to taste

1 tsp (5gms) garam masala powder

Grind together with a little water 3 dry red chillies

1 tbsp (15gms) cumin seeds

1 tbsp (6gms) coriander seeds

½ tsp (2gms) turmeric powder

1 tbsp (15gms) ghee

2-3 bay leaves (tej patta)

¼ tsp (1gms) cumin seeds
