6 plum tomatoes , seeded and chopped (Romas)

1/2 cup nonfat milk

8 ounces light cream cheese

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 small sweet onion , halved and sliced

8 ounces fresh mushrooms , sliced

2 garlic cloves , minced

1 (13 1/2 ounce) can artichoke quarters in water, drained

1/2 cup parmesan cheese , freshly grated

1 teaspoon fresh ground pepper

4 boneless skinless chicken breasts , cut into 1-inch pieces

1 (9 ounce) package fresh fettuccine , cooked according to package directions

2 tablespoons butter (divided use)
