1/2 pound kidney beans, rinsed and soaked overnight in water to cover

4 large carrots, diced

2 medium potatoes, diced

2 leeks, thinly sliced

1/2 pound green beans, cut into 1/2" pieces

3 cloves garlic, crushed

1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper

2 tablespoons finely chopped basil

1/2 cup olive oil

1 cup very thin egg noodles

1/4 cup tomato puree or 1 fresh tomato, peeled and finely diced

1/2 cup soft bread crumbs

1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese plus additional for sprinkling
