Ingredients for 12 servings

8 tablespoon butter

3 cups chopped onion

2 1/2 cusps chopped celery including leaves

1 clove garlic, finely chopped

1 1/2 tablespoons chopped fresh sage or 1 1/2 tsp dried

1 1/2 tablespoons chopped fresh thyme or 1 1/2 teaspoons dried

2 teaspoons celery seeds

1 pinch grated nutmeg

1 pinch ground cloves

1 teaspoon salt

1 Bake the casserole covered until heated through, 45 minutes to an hour. For a crunchy top, uncover for the last 15 minutes of baking.
