8 ounces cod fish fillets , cut into 1-inch chunks

1 1/2 cups fresh corn , drained or 1 (11 ounce) can corn , drained

1 cup milk

1 bay leaf

1/4 teaspoon dried thyme

8 ounces raw large shrimp , peeled

2 leeks , halved lengthwise and thinly sliced (white & light green parts only)

4 slices bacon , cooked and crumbled

1 1/2 cups water

1/8 teaspoon cayenne

8 ounces red new potatoes , cut in eighths

1 (10 3/4 ounce) can cream of potato soup
