Confectioners' sugar, to dust your surface while rolling the cake

For the filling:

1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened

2 tablespoons butter, softened

1 cup confectioners' sugar

3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the frosting:

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened

3 to 5 cups confectioners' sugar

2 tablespoons cocoa powder

Optional: Ingredients for garnish

White writing icing


Food coloring in red, yellow and green
