2 1/2 cups (about 8 1/2 ounces) cranberries

3/4 cup sugar

1 1/3 cups quick-cooking oats (not instant)

1/2 cup light brown sugar

8 tablespoons (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled

1/2 cup walnut halves, coarsely chopped
