Oh She Glows

I made the biscuits yesterday and I thought I measured everything correctly but it was to runny so out of desperation, after an hour of trying to get it to rise correctly I just threw in some extra flour till it look right then shaped, raised and bake the rolls. They came out good. What I am wondering if I made a mistake or could there be an error in the ingredients? I want to make them again. I probably added at least an extra cup of flour. I used one 1 1/4 cups all purpose and one cup spelt so I was pretty sure my flour measurements were correct. I added 3/4 c water also when it said to. Thank you for checking and getting back to me.
