1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 1/3 cups chilled unsalted butter, cut into small pieces

1 1/4 cups ice water

14 ounces unsalted butter, chilled (3 1/2 sticks OR 28 tablespoons) (it helps to keep the butter in sticks for making the block)
