The Shiksa in the Kitchen


I'm not big into sweets so my favorite thing about this recipe is that while it is a bit sweet, it is not real sweet at all.

This was the first time I made these. Yum! Only thing I would do different is to make sure the nut mixture is ground up a little finer than what I had for ease of spreading. Oh, I also had to turn down the temperature on my oven just a bit; first tray got just a tad burnt on the bottoms from the sugars, but they still got eaten so no biggie there.

2 sticks (1 cup) unsalted butter

8 oz. cream cheese

1/4 cup sour cream

2 cups all purpose flour

1/4 tsp salt

2 tbsp granulated sugar

1 1/2 cups chopped walnuts or pecans

1 1/4 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

1/2 cup berry preserves (raspberry, strawberry, or blackberry)

1/4 cup brown sugar

1 egg

1 tsp water

Dusting Ingredients

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
