1 1/2 teaspoon of chili paste

1/2 inch of fresh ginger (pounded with mortar and pestle)

2 cloves of garlic (pounded with mortar and pestle)

1 stalk of scallion (chopped to 2-inch length)

Sugar to taste

Salt to taste

A handful of dried red chilies

2 tablespoons of cooking oil
