2 cups (250 g) confectionery sugar

4 eggs, large

2 cups 1 1/2 Tablespoons (250 g) flour

1 pinch salt

2 teaspoons baking powder

1/3 cup 1 Tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder

1 1/2 teaspoon ground allspice

1 pinch red chili powder

3 teaspoons cinnamon

2 teaspoons ground ginger

1/2 teaspoon pepper

1 3/4 cup red wine ( I used Merlot)

1/2 cup dates, chopped

1/4 cup crystallized ginger, chopped
