It's a radish. That alone is a rooted vegetable.

Who knew horseradish was a root? Not me! In fact I didn't know it was an actual stand alone food. I thought it was a combo of stuff that gets stuffed in a jar. Now I don't really like horseradish, but maybe if I tried homemade it would be a different experience. Plus it's seasonal and now is the season. So give it a go! Let us know how it is. Now off to Google to find out why the heck it's called horseradish!
