4 cups frozen lima (also known as butter beans) beans, thawed and drained

5 cups good quality vegetable broth

1/2 tsp dried red chili flakes

4 sprigs fresh thyme

2 tablespoons fresh chopped basil

2 tablespoons fresh chopped Italian/flat leaf parsley

salt and fresh ground pepper, to taste
