Grilled Tofu With Peanut Noodles

Ingredients

The tofu needs to marinate for at least 1 hour, but the overall preparation time is around 30 minutes. Serve with steamed bok choy or broccoli, drizzled with the reserved marinade.

14-ounce package firm tofu

1/3 cup soy sauce

1/3 cup rice wine or dry sherry

2 teaspoons Asian sesame oil

2 tablespoons minced fresh ginger

1 1/2 tablespoons rice vinegar or cider vinegar

1 tablespoon water

1 teaspoon sugar

Vegetable oil, for the grill

12 ounces Chinese-style thin fresh noodles

1/2 cup + 2 tablespoons peanut sauce (see Note)

2 to 3 scallions (white and most of the green parts), thinly sliced

1 red jalapeno, seeded and very thinly sliced
