1 cup (8 oz) butter, softened

1/2 cup (2 1/2 oz) powdered sugar

2 1/2 cups (12 1/2 oz) all-purpose flour

For the Peppermint Coating:

30 peppermint pillow candies (enough to make 1/2 cup crushed)

For the Filling:

1 tablespoon cream cheese

1/2 tablespoon milk

3 tablespoons peppermint coating mixture

red food coloring

milk for sealing the cookies
