Ingredients

1 (4 lb) chicken cut into quarters

6 medium-sized carrots, peeled and cut into 2-inch pieces

3 long celery stalks, halved

2 large yellow onions quartered

6 black peppercorns

1 bunch of parsley

1 bunch of fresh dill

6 Turkish bay leaves

1 1/2 tbsp kosher salt or coarse sea salt

3 tbsp butter

3 turnips peeled and cut into quarters

3 parsnips peeled and cut into 2-inch pieces

1/2 tsp white pepper

3 quarts of water

1 cup of matzo meal

1 tsp fine salt

1/8 tsp white pepper

4 eggs

4 tbsp vegetable oil

6 tbsp chicken broth

4 tbsp fresh dill chopped

1 tsp baking powder
