Ingredients for 4 servings

1 cup dried cannellini beans

1 carrot, peeled and cut into 4 or 5 chunks

1 celery stalk, cut into 4 or 5 chunks

1/2 yellow onion

1 garlic clove, lightly smashed

Fine sea salt, to taste

1 large tomato, cored, peeled, seeded &nbsp and diced

1/2 small red onion, minced

1 large garlic clove, finely minced

2 Tbs. chopped fresh basil

1 Tbs. chopped fresh &nbsp flat-leaf parsley

3 Tbs. extra-virgin olive oil

2 tsp. red wine vinegar, or to taste

Sea salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste

1 tsp. fennel seeds

4 ahi tuna steaks, each about 6 oz.
