¼ cup Thai basil leaves, tightly packed

3/4 cup plum vinegar (or any fruity vinegar)

2 teaspoons soy sauce (optional), depending on the saltiness of the vinegar

3 tablespoons toasted sesame oil

¼ teaspoon white pepper, freshly ground

1 tablespoon sesame seeds, slightly toasted (optional)
