  • 1 lb spaghetti (or your favorite pasta)
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 3 garlic cloves, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup dry white wine
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 cups sliced broccoli florets and stems (about 1/4 lb)
  • 4 ozs sliced spiral ham, cut into 1/4-inch squares (or thin slices if you prefer)
  • 1/2 cup reserved pasta water
  • Coarse salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese for grating
