Ingredients for 6 servings

1 lb lean ground beef or ground buffalo meat or ground chicken or ground turkey

1 tablespoon minced garlic (about 4 cloves)

1 teaspoon dried ancho chile powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

Tabasco sauce , to taste

1 teaspoon ground cumin

1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste

1 (7 ounce) can chopped mild green chilies , with liquid

1 cup chopped yellow onion

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1 cup uncooked elbow macaroni (we use Mission lower-carb macaroni)

1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

1 (14-15 ounce) can chopped peeled tomatoes , with juice

2 teaspoons dried oregano

1 (15 ounce) can red kidney beans or black beans or black soybeans , drained

1 teaspoon chili powder
