1 onion , sliced

400.0g can chopped tomatoes

2 garlic cloves , sliced

600.0ml beef stock (from a cube is fine)

1.0 tbsp black treacle

400.0g can cannellini beans , drained and rinsed

1.0 tbsp plain flour

1.0 tsp cumin

1.0kg stewing beef , cut into chunks

3½ tbsp vegetable oil

2 red peppers , deseeded and sliced

soured cream and coriander, to serve
